TESSA & DENNIS | WHANGANUI

Chilled and relaxed are two words we think every couple would like to use to describe their wedding day! Having a wedding at their own home (which carries special meaning in itself) allowed Tessa and Dennis to have their dream, no stress day. With a clear idea of exactly what was important to them and they wanted their day to contain, rather than fitting in with one particular style or theme, Tessa and Dennis were able to spend their day focusing on the important things - spending time with each other and their friends and family. And how about that first look - or shall we say looks!

Where did you purchase your dress and accessories from:

Dress is from Etcetera Bridal and accessories from various other places

Where did you find your inspiration for your wedding day:

Once I saw what the Love Club had to offer, that was it. I had a vision and knew exactly what I wanted. I had known that I wanted go quality basic stuff (like tables etc) because I believe if you have them then you need less decorations and it keeps it classier.

Our wedding style was…

We didn’t have a set style; we just had a vision of what we wanted. We combined a number of styles together to make our perfect day.

We splurged on…

Across the board everything was reasonably priced, we weighed up spending the extra for things that would mean less stress for us. So, if it was a little more expensive to get something that would mean less stress for us, then we would get it.

Tell us about the proposal…

It was a New Year’s Eve proposal

Do you have any tips for other brides & grooms?

Just relax, it will all work out and if it doesn’t it will make for a good story. The most important thing is having your loved ones with you.

What were the highlights on the day:

Everything was really chill and relaxed – exactly what we wanted, no stress. It made a huge difference having Love Club set everything up, because it took so much of the stress away so we just need to worry about the little things or spending time with friends and family.

Tell us about your venue and why did you choose it:

Our home, it is a very special place to us and Dennis (my husbands) father recently passed away and it was his old house. We wanted to be as close to him as we possibly could as he was the reason Dennis proposed to me in the first place.

We saved on…

Smaller bits and pieces that we knew wouldn’t really matter or that we didn’t care about.

Our love story began…

When I used to manage a pub and Dennis became a regular just to get my attention (romantic I know haha).
