ELENA & CAM | MUDBRICK VINEYARD, WAIHEKE
The photos of this day are simply to die for, and that is probably because everything was literally so stunning! We know that, not only because of the talent by Wild and Grace Photography but because we were lucky enough to be there too. There is something so cool about seeing your good friends get married and join the Love Club! There is so much to love about this wedding, the venue, the sunshine, our archway with those blooms overlooking THAT view…. we could go on, so instead why not just have a look for yourself!
Where did you purchase your dress and accessories from:
The dress was from Sally Eagle.
What were the highlights on the day:
The day itself was just a great time! We were lucky to get perfect weather which was a huge bonus, and spending the day with our friends and family all in one place was more than we could ask for!
Where did you find your inspiration for your wedding day:
We wanted something simple with just white flowers & green foliage. Hopefully something that will age well, and when we look back on it in 20 years time it will still look good. A lot of time was spent looking through Pinterest and online at getting ideas.
Tell us about your venue and why did you choose it:
We love Waiheke and the setting that Mudbrick has. The view from up at the lodge is amazing on a sunny day and even if the weather is bad they have an amazing indoor option which is a must to have a backup on the day given the uncertainty of NZ weather! We wanted somewhere that we could have the reception and ceremony all in one place and Mudbrick ticked all the boxes!
Our love story began…
We met at work back in 2014.
Tell us about the proposal…
The proposal was a bit of a s#*t-show. We were on holiday in Italy and I had picked up the ring at duty free when we left Auckland. Nervous and not wanting to carry the ring around with me with the fear of losing it, I dropped the knee on the first night in Italy while we were walking around trying to find a spot for dinner. I was hoping to find a quiet scenic spot somewhere, but after about an hour or so of walking around I settle for a quiet alleyway.
We saved on….
There wasn’t too much we could save on, being on Waiheke we were very limited with our options of vendors we could pick. Although we probably did scale back on our flowers and wedding cake to try shave off some of the overall cost.
Do you have any tips for other brides & grooms?
Take it easy on the day, try not to stress over the little things and just enjoy the moment as the day will fly by so quick.
Our wedding style was…
While it was a formal occasion we wanted it to be a fun and relaxed vibe, nothing too serious. We were lucky enough to have a friend who was a celebrant who didn’t take it too seriously. His speech was a fun and relaxed vibe and set the mood for the rest of the day perfectly.
We splurged on….
The photographer’s. But i think it was worth it as at the end of it all, you only really have the photos to look back and remember your day.
